I always thought moving to Portland was a good idea.  Now I know I can go there and visit the 90s!

Meyers Wow!  What an amazing and evocative image this is.  The minimalist tones of the barest hints of what is in this picture is probally only meant to be understood by a few people who come from an era familiar with console gaming and cartriges.  The POWER and RESET buttons are the least washed out colors in this picture, I can almost hear the KER-CHUNK of turning the power on and feel the spring-back of the reset.   The tangle of wires, the hands of the players and the feet of the waiting player as well as the bored house cat tail, tell of a lost Saturday spent playing Street Fighter II (the title of this piece). While video games are far more advanced than this was 20 years ago, can we really romanticize an era in gaming that didn’t involve the internet, sleek compact discs or wireless controls?
